A glorious
weekends weather not matched by performances. |

Shaky
Start to Season
With a good result on Wednesday Ashdon seemed to be off
to a great start, but after suffering 2 disappointing losses
in the first weekend of fixtures players were brought back
down to earth with a bump.
With an
victory in dark conditions on Wednesday Ashdon progressed
into round 2 of the Adams Harrison Cup, some good batting
from new recruit Andy Wherrett gave them a deserved victory.
The Saturday
side suffered a loss at the hands of local rivals Great
Chesterford, despite 50s from both Jamie Millership and
Stuart Sutherland, Ashdon's slow start was punished and with
5 overs to go, Chesterford go to the winning figure of 190
for the loss of 6 wickets.
On Sunday a
poor batting display by Ashdon was taken advantage of by
Mill Green, needing only 125 to win, victory was easy for
them. |
